In this art process video, I am attempting a more straightforward and one-layered mixed media project. I missed doing these types of projects, just like the one that I did with this journal’s cover page.

To be honest, using cool-toned colours is not my cup of tea; however, I wanted to try it. Therefore, these simple journaling projects are the perfect way to explore new techniques or methods of breaking a blank page.

There are a few things in my mind that I want to add on this page – something that I’m already used to, like adding warm tone paints and layering embellishments.

I also think that the usage of the felt tip pen is a little excessive; hence, the overall appeal is not striking enough. But I am not discarding the use of this pen yet, and in fact, I am curious to see what else I can do with it.

The new acrylic paints that I purchased recently have stunning colours, and they are not dull. Perhaps my favourite part of this art process is the finish of the colours when I made the first few applications. If I may say so, the opacity of the paint is not affected by water.

Overall, I am pleased to let this curiosity out of my system now, and I am happy with the result.
